What's Happening

July 08, 2011

Summer is finally here and we are well underway in preparation for our new crop. We currently have two fellas here from Jamaica helping us with these early stages. We have started our season off this spring by pruning the trees. In doing this it helps to control the size of the tree and assists in producing a better size and quality of fruit. Since then, the newer trees have been tied to help them take shape, the orchard is mowed and close to 2000 trees have been planted.

We also have 2 new varieties of apples this season:
Pink Lady and Ambrosia

On the storefront, the inventories are being done, the jams/jellies are being prepared and things are getting cleaned and organized for another season. Our baker eagerly awaits the new apples to be able to bring to you those homemade pies, apples crisps and delicious dumplings. Don't forget to wash it down with some apple cider.
